Life Cycle Events

In Judaism, life-cycle events are observed by individuals and families, but also within the context of the larger synagogue community. From ancient times until our own contemporary day, life-cycle events create and enrich the social fabric of the Jewish community, connect the generations to one another, and represent the unbroken “chain of tradition” that will ensure Jewish continuity for the future.

We honor the Jewish chain of tradition and value what has been transmitted from the past, but we also create and embrace new rituals that speak to our contemporary sensibilities and that are inclusive of all family members regardless of their religious background.

As a member of Congregation B’nai Israel, the rabbi will meet with you to design an authentic Jewish life-cycle ceremony that best reflects who you are, as guided the traditional Jewish custom. The beauty of belonging to Congregation B’nai Israel is that you are surrounded by a loving and caring community that will celebrate the joyous moments with you and comfort you when it is most needed.
