Welcome to Congregation B'nai Israel

Congregation B’nai Israel is an Egalitarian Conservative Synagogue that plays a central role in the Jewish life of Ocean County. Its mission is to assure the continued vibrancy of our Jewish community by providing a wide spectrum of religious, educational, cultural and social programs for all age groups. Everyone, at every level of Jewish involvement is encouraged to participate and we welcome all Interfaith Families. Our community celebrates each other’s joyous life cycle events and mourns each other’s losses. Warm and meaningful services are led by Rabbi Ellen S. Wolintz-Fields and Cantor Steven Walvick. A daily morning minyan is conducted 365 days a year. We take great pride in our educational programs, from preschool to Hebrew high school and adult education. The social events of Sisterhood, Men’s Club, and Hazak provide opportunities for new members to make friends and feel at home in our synagogue. We offer an array of activities for children of all age levels through our wonderful U.S.Y., Kadima, and Tzofim youth groups. Ever since it’s founding in 1950, Congregation B’nai Israel has enabled its members to gather strength from the teachings, traditions, and heritage of our ancestors. We aim to instill Jewish values within ourselves and our children and believe strongly in the unbreakable kinship of the Jewish people throughout the world. We strive to remain financially stable so as to serve the community, offering special arrangements for members as needed; scholarships for children to attend Jewish programing, camps and trips to Israel; as well as member incentives like “First-Year 1/2 price”, “Free Membership for Jewish Newlyweds (married by our clergy)” and “No Dues or Tuition Increases.” Whether you wish to explore your Jewish heritage, enrich yourself and your children with Jewish learning, attend religious services, or be a part of our social activities, come join us as we Create Jewish Memories at the Jersey Shore! Join us for live-streaming from our sanctuary¬† CBI-Live.
